One thing I would like to see is a comic plugin that will allow me to pick some comics by RSS feed and post them on a page on my blog.
Not all the comics I would want on there are with some comic service however.
Ideally I would like to have one page, kind of a personal “funny papers” to hold copies of the comic for the following (for example):
Girl Genius
FreeFall
Something*Positive
Clan of the Cats
Skin Horse
Venus Envy
and others. Links back to the comic of origin so that they get publicity, and have it update when the artist updates their feed. I would, of course, secure permission from the authors so that when it pulls their comic it’s not cacheing it on their server, but on mine, so that their bandwidth isn’t affected. That way when a comic updates I can go to that page, and have all my comics right there so I can read them. This will also let surfers get to that page and see what I read and possibly suggest new stuff, comment on what I see, read “over my shoulder” as it were, and so on. Maybe have it password protected so that you have to enter a password to see that page if you want to keep it private, or without the password the graphic isn’t displayed, but links to the comics that are on there are displayed, so that the surfer can see what you read, but not use the bandwidth of the site pulling the pictures.
That is what I would like to see. Granted it would be a pain in the backside to get permission from each comic author, but I don’t think that is an insurmountable obstacle right now. That would also leave the sites that generate revenue from the comic feeds the option of only serving to a specific plugin, instead of all of them.

I made this particular picture into an icon for use on LiveJournal (and clones). I think it typifies the beauty I love and want to have reflected in this blog.
(That or I just have an obsession with veils.)

Of course, I love this photo and what it states too.

I guess I really AM a deviant. But it’s okay, if beauty is deviation, then sign me up.

All my online activities have been cut off. See, my Internet access from home was shut down. We owe them $220 and they want their money (for some silly reason). So for now we are going to do without the Internet so my online activities will be sporadic.
Sorry about this.
On the plus side, I’ll have more time to write new stories, it will just be at infrequent intervals when I get them posted.
< sigh >
Anyhow, just an update.

Every Crossdresser Should Shop Here (at least once) | Crossdresser Heaven

This is an article I came across at Crossdresser Heaven and I thought it might be of interest to you all. It is not very often when we find merchants in Brick & Mortar places that will cater to us and treat us with respect. So finding a merchant like that is a real boon and should be shared around.
I’ve been working again on the site. Yeah, I just can’t keep my hands off it.
Anyhow, that aside, the main part that I’ve been working on currently is the login for this site. I have a few priorities when I’m working on it.
- It has to work with OpenID
- It has to be transparent (meaning you don’t notice it when it works)
- It needs to redirect you to the same page you logged in from
- It has to be user-friendly
- It has to keep you off the admin dashboard
- Preferably it’s not storing a lot of info here
The OpenID standard is perfect for this. So too is Gravatars since you link an avatar to an email address that is linked to an OpenID account. Works for me.
I don’t mind having user and login information here, but I don’t like it since it uses up space on my server, and it is REALLY redundant.
I’ve been playing with the options and I think I’m happy with it all now. There is only two things I’m not happy about, and both of them are solvable with editing the plugin for the login. I’d like the login screen to show your name (so I don’t get confused as to who I’m logged in as), and I’d like it to direct you back to the same page you requested the login from.
The problem is that I’m not a PHP programmer, and I have no clue what I’m doing.
So, if you can help me, I’d love it. I’m using WP-UserLogin with a plugin to support OpenID, so if any of you big, strong men out there want to help little ole’ me out….
ETA: I turned the things that I thought was wrong with the plugin to the creator, asking for some help. He very nicely changed the whole thing, added in functions so that the plugin did what I wanted, namely welcoming you back and returning you to the same page you logged in from. I’m so happy I could squee!
