I live in Japan but I am not Japanese. There is something I can’t understand regarding the “Gaijin”(non Japanese) mindset regarding what we call okama (gays), onabe (lesbians) and new half (TS/TG). A good number of our sports personalities, entertainers and even one famous Japanese writer cum anarchist fall into one of those categories. My nextdoor neighbour is a crossdresser, I’ve seen him at work in Akihabara–he looks quite cute as Sailor Moon and actually looks prettier than a good many genetic women.

So, what is it that’s different about Japanese or Thai society? Why don’t they have a lot of issues about New Halfs or Ladyboys? Just something to think about….
