 Site and redesign

This is going to be a post that is simply me thinking out loud about this blog. I want to hear your opinions on this so please comment.

I’m going to be making some changes to this site. The color scheme will stay the same, and I’m probably going to add some more icons and pictures and such, to make it look more “girly”. That is the main theme to this place. What I’m reconsidering is moving a bunch of the content around.

The sidebar is not cluttered as it is now, but it’s also not showing everything that it should. The RSS links are small and out of the way, and they should be prominent. I have no calendar of posts to show how frequently (or infrequently) I post, so that’s going to have to be up there somplace. I had some suggestions that I add “most recent comments” and “Most read posts” to the site, to show you all what is currently going on.

I want to move “My Brute” to someplace unobtrusive, as well as the campaign badges (Ad-free blog, PayPal donate, etc) so that they aren’t on the sidebar. I’d love to include a “members group” that is on here like Google does. I’d also like to have a couple random links to other sites from my link list show up and point you guys to good stuff.

Most of the redesign is going to go into the footer. I like that I have my copyright down there, but it looks lonely, so time to redesign it to look more 00′s and bloggish.

One of the other things I’m going to do is to start posting more. Stories come when they come, but I’m resolving to post AT LEAST once every other day here, be it articles or general things to tell you about. I am going to keep this an ad-free blog, but I might start endorsing some products that I think will help you all out. Things like breast forms, wigs, places to go shopping at. If I can get a kickback from them to put that up, then all the better.

Yes, I do want to make money from this blog. Others do so without compromising their high quality stuff, and the occasional mention of something they use and find good doesn’t seem to hurt anything. NO I’m not going to flood your Twitter timeline with TONS of annoying “Full SEO package, make thou$and$ from your blog” advertisements like *I* keep seeing. I find that rude and stupid, and it makes me not want to buy whatever they are selling. Anyone who has to drum up customers through irritation needs to have their company taken away, IMO.

Part of this includes a lot of plugins. You may notice that a lot of abbreviations are defined now, and that’s because of a plugin for acronyms I found. Makes my life easier.

And finally stories. I do have some ideas for more, and I will be putting them up. Never fear that I’m going to be stopping my storytelling. It’s a personal release.

Anyhow, that’s it for now. Off to the store. Please comment and let me know if there are some things you would like to see here that you think I’m missing, and I’ll do my best to include them. But I really DO want your feedback.

Love Always...NOT my actual signature

Mini-Biography:  Joy is a transvestite who has been using her stories as a form of therapy. At this point she has no desire to undergo the full transition, but that might change some day. Read more about her story at My Story on this site.
