 Need a Job?

avatar

United ENDA is making a call to EVERY GBLT person out there who is unemployed. They want you to go to your Congressperson’s office with your resume and to apply for a job.

Full details here.

I’m out of work, I’m transgendered, and I want a job. Honestly? I want to do this. But I am afraid. I know I don’t pass when I’m dressed, and I don’t have many work-appropriate clothes. I could do it.

I want to do it. I am terribly scared.

I don’t want to talk myself out of it, but then it’s one of those things that could be so easily ignored.

So scared.

Love Always...NOT my actual signature

Mini-Biography:  Joy is a transvestite who has been using her stories as a form of therapy. At this point she has no desire to undergo the full transition, but that might change some day. Read more about her story at My Story on this site.

I made the trip to my local office for both my Senators and my Congressman. I am not sure it did much good as ENDA seems to be bottled up in the Labor and Education Subcommittee (Chairman Congressman George Miller CA-D) ENDA was supposed to have been marked up and then moved to the Congressional floor for a vote several times since Congress come back in January, but it seems no one knows why it has sat in committee without any further consideration. The closer we get to the mid-terms, the less likelihood anyone in congress wishes to see this come up for a vote. I personally seem to be on several of their mailing lists for donations. I have started to reply to their requests for donations with a simple reply. No ENDA = No Donations.
